This aloha shirt is boldly decorated with Katsushika Hokusai's popular masterpiece "The Great Wave off Kanagawa." It is very popular as a souvenir from Japan and as a present for people overseas. Combined with the glass pattern from the Metropolitan Museum of Art where the print is owned the result is a sophisticated Japanese-style aloha shirt.The fabric is high quality chirimen from the Kyotango region, which is also used for kimonos. We use so-called B fabric, which has slight scratches during manufacturing, but this does not affect the wearability. The printing process is carried out with great care at our workshop in Kamezawa, Sumida Ward, the birthplace of Hokusai.
